Awesome time with some local bands! I was there to support a local band and friends, the Kurumpaw, followed by We Are Pancakes and the Acid Sisters.

Cover charge was only $15, which I think is very fair considering you're also supporting local artists. I would definitely go to this type of event again.

Kurumpaw has an interesting sound. They have a very catchy cumbia song while the other songs are a mix of indie and and alternative--at least, those are my thoughts. As much as I am a fan of their current style, I can't wait to see what their style will evolve into.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see much of We Are Pancakes although I did hear that their lead singer is in the hospital. I don't know what condition he's in or if it's something life-threatening, but they played on anyway. I sure hope he recovers soon though, whatever he's going through.

The Acid Sisters were also very good. All their members seem to play like veterans and play very well together. The keyboardist, Liz, is an old friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a long while, before she got into the band so it was great to see what she had been up to on her downtime.
